At the scheduled time, Care Messaging sends an SMS. The recipient does not need a smartphone app or a separate login to respond.
The reply updates the caregiver dashboard. Confirmed, snoozed, skipped and help-requested statuses remain distinct so the history reflects what the person actually reported.
If there is no response, an optional second reminder can be sent. After the configured interval, designated caregivers can be notified that the reminder remains unconfirmed.
Important: Care Messaging can report that a reminder has not been confirmed. It cannot verify whether medication was actually taken or whether a health-related task was completed.
Messages should be understandable without exposing unnecessary health information on a lock screen. A caregiver can use a friendly label such as “morning medication” rather than including diagnosis details.
